The EQ is uber responsive for you to add lots of mids to no mids, shave off or add high end for various guitars, and the bass circuit is very tasteful. The EQ of this amp on the Dirt setting is so flexible. You said you haven't seen any reviews yet. SS is superior in the attack department for low notes and heavy riffs. THe big thing about the CR120 for heavy music is the attack. Suggestion, stack a Zvex Fuzz Factory with a really gated sound feeding the dirty channel with the pedal's gain at 0 using the Stab control and gate control to taste. "I never used to appreciate compression because it was less obvious than something like a distortion pedal. “It’s a killer compressor… I’ve used a number of them over the years, but this one seems to sound the best.
